BAGUIO’S HIGH enough (by Philippine standards, anyway), but here’s a view of the city from the view deck of SM Baguio. Taken with my iPhone 5. (Click on the pic to get the full experience.)

Flotsam & Jetsam No. 17: Three Sonnets

NO, NOT the 14-line poems that the Italians and the English loved, but the ones made by Parker that bleed the ink that writes the poems. Here are three of my Parker Sonnets in the Foncé, Fougere, and Ciselé patterns. Took this shot to test the camera of my iPhone 5—not too shabby, methinks.
Flotsam & Jetsam No. 16: Bridges Across the Yarra

MELBOURNE IS such a mix of old and new, as these bridges across the Yarra River show. Passed them on my 8-km. morning walk today. I like this place!
Flotsam & Jetsam No. 13: A Fall Day in Cold Spring
WE TOOK a train out of Manhattan to spend a quiet fall day in Cold Spring, about 90 minutes north along the Hudson, and I took the opportunity to test the “Panorama” feature of IOS6 on my iPhone 5.
Flotsam & Jetsam No. 12: Northern October
A couple of iPhone shots from New York today:

And one from the backyard in Virginia:

Flotsam & Jetsam No. 10: Sundays Are for Pens

IT BEING a rainy Sunday here in Manila, I thought I’d take out some of my fountain pens—vintage and modern—for some routine maintenance (read: boy plays with toys). I took this shot of the pens with my iPhone, and I rather like its antique-y look.
And while we’re at it, here are the pens in my current rotation. Can you identify them?

Flotsam & Jetsam No. 7: Something Fishy
Dangguit (dried fish) from Cebu, 2008.
Flotsam & Jetsam No. 4: Better Halves

MET THESE, uhm, ladies in an ukay-ukay (used clothing) store in Puerto Princesa.
Flotsam & Jetsam No. 3: A Lovely Place to Lie

WE WERE on the road in Hawaii a few years ago, enjoying the scenery, when I spotted this clump of deep red earth against the greenery and a long shrouded box beside it. Was someone about to be buried there, or was I just imagining the kind of pleasant passing we all hope for?
Flotsam & Jetsam No. 2: A Thousand Points of Light
AM NO big fan of George Bush the First, but there’s no better way to describe what I found in the parking structure at Eastwood a few years ago.
